Farrukh Kazmi Shared (Story)-Don’t judge others before you know them

Farrukh Kazmi“A 24 year old boy seeing out from the train’s window shouted…
‘Dad, look the trees are going behind!’
Dad smiled and a young couple sitting nearby, looked at the 24 year old’s childish behavior with pity, suddenly he again exclaimed…
‘Dad, look the clouds are running with us!’
The couple couldn’t resist and said to the old man…
‘Why don’t you take your son to a good doctor?’
The old man smiled and said…’I did and we are just coming from the hospital, my son was blind from birth, he just got his eyes today.’
Every single person on the planet has a story. Don’t judge people before you truly know them. The truth might surprise you.”read more(Farrukh Kazmi)

Farrukh Kazmi Shared (Story)-THE STARFISH STORY

Farrukh KazmiAn old man walked across the beach until he came across a young boy throwing something into the breaking waves. Upon closer inspection, the old man could see that the boy was tossing stranded starfish from the sandy beach, back into the ocean.

“What are you doing, young man?” He asked.(Farrukh Kazmi)
“If the starfish are still on the beach when the sun rises, they will die,” the boy answered.
“That is ridiculous. There are thousands of miles of beach and millions of starfish. It doesn’t matter how many you throw in; you can’t make a difference.”

“It matters to this one,” the boy said as he threw another starfish into the waves. “And it matters to this one.”read more (Farrukh Kazmi)

Farrukh Kazmi Shared (Story)-The Priorities of Life a Motivational Story

Farrukh KazmiHere I am narrating a motivational story which I encounter in the session of a motivational speaker in Lucknow. He is also a keynote speaker and a leadership consultant in the same city.A psychology professor once came in the class with lots of stuff and put all those peripherals on the table. As the class began, he took the empty jar and placed it in the middle of the table without uttering a single word. We all were watching very closely although we didn't want to be seen stupid in front of two hundred people sitting in the seminar. The professor proceeded by filling up the jar with rocks (appears to me about 6 centimetres in the diameter) and asked the attendees, "Is this jar full?" I am in no hurry to give any answers and waited everyone to respond. They all said, "Yes it is." I too said in the same chores and agreed that the jar was full. The professor then poured pebbles into the jar and shook it. The pebbles occupied the spaces in between rocks and asked again, "Is this jar full?" the pebbles that rolled down the spaces between the rocks make it appear full. So all said again yeah it was full as compared to the rocks only.(Farrukh Kazmi)

The professor smiled and took sand to pour it down into the jar. Obviously, the sand took the remaining spaces of pebbles & rocks and filled it entirely. There was no space can be seen in between. He, once more, asked the same question "Is this jar full?" Now even I am confident to say it is full. We all said unanimous, "Yes, it is full".Explanation of the experiment:

The professor explained everything. He let us imagined the life as a jar. The rocks in the experiment were the most important things in life such as your family, your wife, your children and your health. The things, that would remain with you even if you lose everything in life, are considered as important things. The pebbles were the other important things in your life such as your job, your car, your house etc. In a similar way, the sand is everything else - the small stuff in life. It was now easy to understand that if we put the sand or small stuff in our life first, there was no time for sure for the things which matter the most. The sand would occupy all the space leaving no space for the pebbles and stones.

You need to pay attention towards your family and children more than your job or anything that matters less in your life.read more(Farrukh Kazmi)

Farrukh Kazmi Shared (Story)-The Monkey and The Crocodile

Farrukh KazmiOnce upon a time, a clever monkey lived in a tree that bore juicy, red rose apples. He was very happy. One fine day, a crocodile swam up to that tree and told the monkey that he had traveled a long distance and was in search of food as he was very hungry. The kind monkey offered him a few rose apples. The crocodile enjoyed them very much and asked the monkey whether he could come again for some more fruit. The generous monkey happily agreed.

The crocodile returned the next day. And the next. And the next one after that. Soon the two became very good friends. They discussed their lives, their friends and family, like all friends do. The crocodile told the monkey that he had a wife and that they lived on the other side of the river. So the kind monkey offered him some extra rose apples to take home to his wife. The crocodile’s wife loved the rose apples and made her husband promise to get her some every day.(Farrukh Kazmi)

Meanwhile, the friendship between the monkey and the crocodile deepened as they spent more and more time together. The crocodile’s wife started getting jealous. She wanted to put an end to this friendship. So she pretended that she could not believe that her husband could be friends with a monkey. Her husband tried to convince her that he and the monkey shared a true friendship. The crocodile’s wife thought to herself that if the monkey lived on a diet of rose monkeys, his flesh would be very sweet. So she asked the crocodile to invite the monkey to their house.

The crocodile was not happy about this. He tried to make the excuse that it would be difficult to get the monkey across the river. But his wife was determined to eat the monkey’s flesh. So she thought of a plan. One day, she pretended to be very ill and told the crocodile that the doctor said that she would only recover if she ate a monkey’s heart. If her husband wanted to save her life, he must bring her his friend’s heart.

The crocodile was aghast. He was in a dilemma. On the one hand, he loved his friend. On the other, he could not possibly let his wife die. The crocodile’s wife threatened him saying that if he did not get her the monkey’s heart, she would surely die.(Farrukh Kazmi)

So the crocodile went to the rose apple tree and invited the monkey to come home to meet his wife. He told the monkey that he could ride across the river on the crocodile’s back. The monkey happily agreed. As they reached the middle of the river, the crocodile began to sink. The frightened monkey asked him why he was doing that. The crocodile explained that he would have to kill the monkey to save his wife’s life. The clever monkey told him that he would gladly give up his heart to save the life of the crocodile’s wife, but he had left his heart behind in the rose apple tree. He asked the crocodile to make haste and turn back so that the monkey could go get his heart from the apple tree.

The silly crocodile quickly swam back to the rose apple tree. The monkey scampered up the tree to safety. He told the crocodile to tell his wicked wife that she had married the biggest fool in the world.

Moral: Don’t underestimate yourself. There are bigger fools in this world.read more (Farrukh Kazmi)

Farrukh Kazmi Shared (Story)-The Lazy Man and the God’s Plan

Farrukh KazmiOnce upon a time, there was a very lazy man who would always look for an easier way to feed himself. One day while he was searching for something to eat, he saw the fruit farm. He looked around and didn’t see anyone guarding the fruits on the tree, so he quickly decided to steal some fruits. But as soon as he walked into the farm and started to climb the tree, the farmer saw him and started coming at him to catch him. The lazy man saw the farmer coming at him with a stick, he got afraid and ran towards the forest nearby and went inside it to hide.

After some time when he felt he started to move on from the forest and while passing through, he saw the wonderful scene. There was a fox. It had only two legs and still was crawling on them happily. The lazy man thought, how can this fox stay alive in such condition?! The fox can’t run, how he must be able to feed himself or stay alive from the threat of other animals.(Farrukh Kazmi)

Suddenly, he saw the lion coming towards the fox with a piece of meat already in his mouth. All the animals ran away and the lazy man climbed up on the tree to save himself but, the fox stayed there only, he didn’t have the ability to run on two legs. But what happened next surprised the lazy man. The lion left a piece of meat which was in his mouth for the fox!

The lazy man felt happy seeing god’s play. He thought the god who is the creator of all, always has a plan set to take care of what he created. He felt that god must have something planned for him too. So, he left that place and sat somewhere away alone waiting for someone to feed him too. As time starting to pass, he kept looking at the road, waiting for his food. He waited there for 2 days without any food! Finally, he couldn’t bear the hunger and started to leave.(Farrukh Kazmi)

He met an old sage (a wise person famed for wisdom) on the way. He told everything happened to the sage. The sage first gave him some food and water. After having it, the lazy man asked the sage, “oh wise one, the god had shown his mercy on the crippled fox, but why the god was so cruel to me?”

The old sage with a smile said, “True that the creator has a plan for everyone. You are obviously a part of the god’s plan. But Son, You took his sign in a wrong way. He didn’t want you to be like the fox. He wanted you to be like the Lion”.

Moral: Often we misunderstand the signs. God has given everyone a strength and ability to do their part. Always learn to see the things in a positive way and see yourself in a strong position to help the ones who need. Don’t go for the easy choice. Make a right choice.read more (Farrukh Kazmi)

Farrukh Kazmi Shared (Story)-Why Should I feel Bad?

Farrukh KazmiOnce, there was this guy, who was in love with a girl. She wasn’t the most beautiful and gorgeous but for him, she was everything. He used to dream about her, about spending the rest of life with her. His friends told him, “why do you dream so much about her when you don’t even know if she loves you or not?  First, tell her your feelings, and get to know if she likes you or not”.(Farrukh Kazmi)

He felt that was the right way.   The girl knew from the beginning, that this guy loves her.   One day when he proposed, she rejected him.  His friends thought he would take alcohol, drugs etc and ruin his life.  To their surprise, he was not depressed.(Farrukh Kazmi)

When they asked him how was it that he is not sad,  he replied, “‘why should I feel bad? I lost one who never loved me and she lost the one who really loved and cared for her.”

Moral:  True Love is Hard to Get.  Love is all about giving to other person without greed of gaining anything in return, if other person rejects it, its him/her who will be losing the most important thing in life. So never feel dejected.read more (Farrukh Kazmi)

Farrukh Kazmi Shared (Story)-Learning from Mistakes

Farrukh KazmiThomas Edison tried two thousand different materials in search of a filament for the light bulb. When none worked satisfactorily, his assistant complained, “All our work is in vain. We have learned nothing, Not sure if we can use an electricity properly.”(Farrukh Kazmi)

Edison replied very confidently, “Oh, we have come a long way and we have learned a lot. We know that there are two thousand elements which we cannot use to make a good light bulb.”

Farrukh Kazmi Shared (Story)-Learn to Appreciate

Farrukh KazmiOnce upon a time, there was a man who was very helpful, kindhearted, and generous. He was a man who will help someone without asking anything to pay him back. He will help someone because he wants to and he loves to.  One day while walking into a dusty road, this man saw a purse, so he picked it up and noticed that the purse was empty. Suddenly a woman with a policeman shows up and gets him arrested.

The woman kept on asking where did he hide her money but the man replied, “It was empty when I found it, Mam.” The woman yelled at him, “Please give it back, It’s for my son’s school fees.”  The man noticed that the woman really felt sad, so he handed all his money.  He could say that the woman was a single mother.  The man said, “Take these, sorry for the inconvenience.”  The woman left and a policeman held the man for further questioning.(Farrukh Kazmi)

The woman was very happy but when she counted her money, later on, it was doubled, she was shocked.  One day while the woman was going to pay her son’s school fees towards the school, she noticed that some skinny man was walking behind her.  She thought that he may rob her, so she approached a policeman standing nearby.  He was the same policeman, who she took along to inquire about her purse.  The woman told him about the man following her, but suddenly they saw that man collapsing.  They ran at him and saw that he was the same man whom they arrested a few days back for stealing a purse.(Farrukh Kazmi)

He looked very weak and the woman was confused.  The policeman said to the woman, “He didn’t return your money, he gave you his money that day.  He wasn’t the thief but hearing about you son’s school fees, he felt sad and gave you his money.”  Later, they helped the man stand up, and the man told the woman, “Please go ahead and pay your son’s school fees, I saw you and followed you to be sure that no one steals your son’s school fees.”   The woman was speechless.

Moral: Life gives you strange experiences, sometime it shocks you and sometimes it may surprise you. We end up making wrong judgments or mistakes in our anger, desperation and frustration. However, when you get a second chance, correct your mistakes and return the favor. Be Kind and Generous. Learn to Appreciate what you are given.read more (Farrukh Kazmi)

Farrukh Kazmi Shared (Story)-A Spirited Aunt

Farrukh KazmiMy Aunt Kay passed away this week after a long illness. I'd known her since I was eight. She was my step dad's sister, his last living sibling. She used to take me to church with her and have me spend the night at her house often when I was between ages 12 to14. She was a great cook, baker, funny, vivacious, and spiritual woman with a wonderful heart, a terrific redhead who I would like to remember the way she was before she got so sick. I hadn't seen her in years because she lived in Georgia and I couldn't get back there.(Farrukh Kazmi)

She used to spend so much time with me on the phone praying with me when I was a kid. She had beautiful eyes and a face that just lit up with her smile.

Several hours before I got the call she was in the process of dying, a cardinal was hanging out in this tree outside my window by my computer.(Farrukh Kazmi)

I was pretty depressed when I got the call but I know my sadness is partly because I'll just miss her so much. She was in pain for so long and now she is free.

Baking up a storm, I'm sure!

Not long after I got off the phone with my mom who told me Aunt Kay was in the process of passing away, the cardinal flew away.read more(Farrukh Kazmi)

Farrukh Kazmi Shared (Story)-The Three Fish

Farrukh KazmiRounding off the list is this beautiful story about three fish. Once again, this story is about teaching your child how to be wise when encountering a problem and never to forget to help others in need.
There were three fish living in a pond. They were friends and practically did everything together.
One day, a fisherman came across the pond and was delighted to see the fish. He made plans to cast a net and catch them.(Farrukh Kazmi)
The wisest of the fishes made plans to find a different pond. While one of the fish agreed, the other one denied, saying that the pond was home and he shall not vacate it. The third fish further said that there had never been any danger in the pond. “I don’t see the point of leaving this pond. I think it is cowardly.”
The first two fish were unable to convince their friend, and so they decided to part ways.(Farrukh Kazmi)
The next day, when the fishermen cast his net, the first two fish escaped. However, the third one got caught. He had been unable to identify and act upon the problem, and was now paying the price of neglecting danger.

Moral Of The Story

It pays to be wise when faced with a problem. Remember that every problem is different, and therefore, has a different solution.read more (Farrukh Kazmi)

Farrukh Kazmi Shared (Story)-Chopsticks!

Farrukh KazmiA woman who had worked all her life to bring about good was granted one wish, “Before I die let me visit both hell and heaven.” Her wish was granted.(Farrukh Kazmi)

She was whisked off to a great banqueting hall. The tables were piled high with delicious food and drink. Around the tables sat miserable, starving people as wretched as could be.

“Why are they like this?” she asked the angel who accompanied her.“Look at their arms,” the angel replied.(Farrukh Kazmi)

She looked and saw that attached to the people’s arms were long chopsticks secured above the elbow. Unable to bend their elbows, the people aimed the chopsticks at the food, missed every time and sat hungry, frustrated and miserable.

“Indeed this is hell! Take me away from here!”(Farrukh Kazmi)

She was then whisked off to heaven. Again she found herself in a great banqueting hall with tables piled high. Around the tables sat people laughing, contented, joyful.

“No chopsticks I suppose,” she said.

“Oh yes there are. Look, just as in hell they are long and attached above the elbow but look, here people have learnt to feed one another”.read more (Farrukh Kazmi)
